CONSIDERATIONS/DISCLOSURES:

-When checking the weather, it is best to use Mi-Wuk Village as your reference location, as The Pine Cone House is at a higher altitude and closer to Mi-Wuk than central Twain Harte.

-The Pine Cone House is NOT a party house. In this community, we wave hello and goodbye to our neighbors as we drive/walk down the street.

-The Pine Cone House has a Ring doorbell and exterior cameras. We care about the security of our home and our community.

-Our driveway will snugly fit 4 cars, maximum.

-Guests have garage access, but the garage can only fit one car because of the games.

-There are stairs and a steep drop from the road to get to the lower deck and backyard area. Please walk on designated gravel steps.

-BBQs/Fire Pits: Propane tanks are available, but not actively maintained. Consider bringing your own tank or exchanging the existing tanks at the local gas stations.

-We are a mountain house and we live among wildlife: bears, wild turkeys, deer, mountain lions, etc.

-Trash is an issue in mountain areas. You will be asked to take your trash home with you past our one bag per night allowance. Please do not leave food outside!

WINTER TRAVEL

-It is highly suggested that cars have chains or 4-wheel drive during snowy months. Main roads get plowed by the city and shovels are provided for guests to plow the driveway, if needed.

-Keep the house clean by removing muddy boots with the hose on the side yard and leaving them to dry on one of the many racks in the garage.

-There have been power outages in the past and road closures due to storms. Travel insurance is recommended.

MORE DETAILS:

Located in the sweet Sugarpine community nestled in between Mi-Wuk Village and downtown Twain Harte, our home is only 16 miles from Pinecrest Lake and 19 miles to Dodge Ridge Ski/Mountain Biking Resort and 8 miles to Black Oak Casino. Yosemitee, Lake Don Pedro, and Lake Tulloch are also close by. The Pine Cone House offers excellent wifi and cell service, proximity to plenty of restaurants and shops, all while being in the privacy of the Sierra Nevada mountains of the Stanislaus National Forest where guests enjoy hiking, fishing, biking, skiing, and camping.

This 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 1874sq ft two-story house has two bedrooms on the main level, and two bedrooms with an additional living/game room downstairs. Each level of the home is equipped with a Cal-king bedroom making The Pine Cone House ideal for two families, or a group that enjoys the options more space provides. Note: Although this home is two stories, the main living level is accessed from the front door and does not require stairs to enter. The front entrance has double doors to allow for wider wheelchairs, or even strollers.

Work remotely in the summer with air conditioning (not very common in the area), or in the winter with central heat, and high speed Wifi. There is a dedicated work space in the master bedroom with a full desk, computer monitor, and a professional office chair, and an additional desk in the second upstairs room. Or, kick back and relax, catching up on your favorite series on our smart TV’s in each bedroom, main living area, and game room, all equipped with a Roku, a house Netflix account and a house Disney+ account. No need to use your own logins (unless you want to, of course!).

The home comes with garage access, ideal for unloading all your vacation extras and mountain bikes. Take advantage of any of our personal beach/snow toys hanging on the walls. The home is family friendly, with plenty of books and toys available in the garage rec room and family friendly extras in the downstairs and hallway closets, such as a pack and play and bumbo seat. There are stairs, so please watch your little ones. You can find an extra baby gate and play pen to guard off the stairs if you choose.

Finally, enjoy your morning coffee and/or a special nightcap cocktail on the upper deck while keeping warm with the propane fire table. There are two picnic tables with umbrellas for outdoor eating. The lower deck is also equipped with chairs to enjoy views of your children playing in the snow or possible wildlife strolling by in the early morning.

About the Owner

Hi! I'm Jessica, a wife, mom of 3, and a full-time teacher at a continuation high school. I've been teaching for over 15 years and I have always loved hospitality, so starting The Pine Cone House Rentals business with our home away from home is a dream come true. I recently fell in love with building and power tools, so I have included a few custom built pieces in The Pine Cone House. Enjoy!
